“KARLA climate-earth-water. Innovative actions for adaptation to the effects of climate change, with an emphasis on land use and water resources management”
The cooperation of the Social Cooperative Enterprise, the Association and the University of Thessaly in actions for scientists, growers, teachers, etc., on climate change and proposals for land use, gives elements of social innovation to the proposal. The organization and implementation of a Summer School on natural wealth, water and land use is an innovative action, because it is the first time that something similar will take place in the region and will contain the latest knowledge, based on legislation, such as e.g. the European Directives 200/60/EC “Establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy” and methodologies and protocols approved by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
In addition, the platform that will host the material of all the seminars and educational activities of the Project that will be available to the general public and not only to the participants of the seminars is considered innovative.
The availability of educational material and video presentations to the KPE and the management bodies of corresponding ecosystems throughout the country is an innovative and useful action. Creation of small presentations with photos and videos to promote the actions and inform citizens through social networks, to thousands of people every month (indicatively, social networks that may be used for the first time in a program are “tik-tok” which is mainly addressed to younger ages and “Pinterest”, in addition to the well-known “Facebook” and “Instagram”. Creation of a cultural-educational Festival for the environment that will be supported after the end of the program in order to become an institution and be established for the coming years.
Exhibitions outside the place of implementation of the project in cities of Thessaly and Athens. Technical Workshops for interested farmers, agronomists, scientists and local bodies to raise their awareness and inform them on good practices.
