This policy establishes a comprehensive institutional framework to provide accessible, effective, and confidential mental health support services to all students, combining preventive, counseling, and referral components.<\/p>\n<h5>Scope and Principles<\/h5>\n<p>This policy covers all enrolled students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, at all campuses. It is grounded in the following principles:<\/p>\n<p>Accessibility &amp; Equity: All students should have equal, timely access to mental health services regardless of background or location.<\/p>\n<p>Confidentiality &amp; Trust: Services must be provided with full respect of privacy and professional ethics.<\/p>\n<p>Prevention &amp; Early Intervention: Emphasis on early detection and preventive measures to reduce escalation.<\/p>\n<p>Integration &amp; Coordination: Counseling and psychological services are integrated with academic, welfare, and health units.<\/p>\n<p>Continuous Improvement: Services are monitored, assessed, and improved based on feedback and evidence.<\/p>\n<h5>Services and Activities<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kesypsys.uth.gr\/\">Counseling &amp; Psychological Support<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Outreach, Awareness &amp; Education: Workshops, seminars, and campaigns on topics such as stress, anxiety, depression, coping strategies, time management, resilience, mindfulness, and mental health literacy are regularly held across all campuses.<\/p>\n<p>Referral Network: For complex or long-term cases, students are referred to external mental health professionals, community health services, or hospitals. The University maintains a directory of trusted partners and agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Peer Support &amp; Student Participation: Structured peer-support programmes, student mental health ambassadors,\u00a0 and student-led groups foster supportive communities and stigma reduction.<\/p>\n<p>Online &amp; Digital Services: Tele-counseling, online resources, self-help modules, mental health apps, and crisis hotline access expand reach, especially for distance students or those in remote campuses.<\/p>\n<p>Training &amp; Capacity Building: Faculty, staff, and administrative personnel receive training to recognize student distress signals and make appropriate referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Data Monitoring &amp; Evaluation: The KESYPSYS unit collects anonymized data on service utilization, trends in demands, student satisfaction, and outcome indicators. Annual evaluation informs service improvement and resource allocation.<\/p>\n<h5>Governance &amp; Responsibilities<\/h5>\n<p>The Rector oversees policy implementation, funding, and inter-unit coordination.<\/p>\n<p>KESYPSYS \/ \u00a0Center for Student Counselling and Psychological Support manages day-to-day operations, staffing, and service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Student Welfare Office collaborates in student outreach, referral coordination, and integration with broader welfare services.<\/p>\n<p>Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) reviews reporting metrics, service outcomes, and alignment with institutional goals.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty &amp; Departments act as first contact points: staff should be aware of mental health resources and able to direct students.<\/p>\n<h5>Funding &amp; Resources<\/h5>\n<p>The University allocates an annual budget to support counseling staff salaries, training, facility maintenance, digital platforms, and outreach programmes.
